This policy explains what information Virex ("we", "us") collects when you visit this website or buy AI Motion Graphics Skill, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect very little.
What we collect
Your email address
When you click a buy button, we ask for your email before sending you to checkout. We store it together with the campaign tag of the link you arrived from (for example ?s=youtube), if there was one, and the time you signed up.
Purchase details
Payments are handled entirely by Gumroad. We never see or store your card or bank details. When you buy, Gumroad tells us your email address, an order ID, the price paid and which product you bought, so we can deliver it and stop checkout reminders.
Anonymous usage statistics
To understand which pages and links work, the site records simple events: a page view (with the referring site and page path), whether you scrolled halfway or to the end, whether you clicked a buy button, and the campaign tag mentioned above. These events do not include your email or name.
We also count visits with Umami, an open-source analytics tool that we run on our own server, so the data isn't shared with anyone. It records the page, the referring site, your browser, device type, and your country and city, which are worked out from your IP address. The IP address itself is not stored, and we do not use cookies or advertising pixels.
Your country, for pricing
The price depends on your country. Our server looks up the country of your IP address in a database kept on the server itself (IP Geolocation by DB-IP), so your IP address is not sent to anyone for this and is not stored. We keep only the resulting price tier: in your browser, and next to your email if you enter it, so reminder emails show the same price.
Information stored in your browser
The site saves a few small values in your browser's local storage: your light/dark theme choice, the campaign tag, your price tier, and your email once you've entered it (so you don't have to type it again). They stay on your device and you can clear them at any time through your browser settings.
How we use it
- To send you to checkout with your email pre-filled, and to deliver the product after purchase.
- To send up to three reminder emails if you started checkout but didn't finish. They stop as soon as you buy or unsubscribe, and every one of them has an unsubscribe link.
- To reply when you contact us for support.
- To see, in aggregate, which links and pages bring visitors, so we can improve the site.
We do not sell, rent or share your information with anyone for their own marketing. We use trusted service providers for hosting, email delivery and payments, who process data only on our behalf.
How long we keep it
We keep your email for as long as it's needed for the purposes above, or until you ask us to delete it. If you unsubscribe, we keep a record of that so we don't email you again. Anonymous usage events may be kept indefinitely because they can't identify you.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from reminders with one click in any email. You can also ask us to show you, correct or delete the information we hold about you by writing to virexexplains@gmail.com. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK, California or India), you may have additional rights under local law, and we'll honour them.
Security
The email list is only reachable by our own server using a private key; it can't be read from the public website. No method of storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Children
This site and product are not intended for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be made clear on the site.
